Lemony Snicket - The composer is dead

Podcasts

I've made a couple of podcasts myself using Windows Movie maker.  These were to show students how to use World Book Online and how to use our online catalogue.
I think podcasts are great and very useful for education.

Rollyo

I think Rollyo is an interesting way of grouping websites that you might visit often and having seen that they're good you know that you'll want to keep using them.
The negative side of it I guess is that initialy you're not giving yourself the option to see and use other websites.

My Space and Facebook

I can see why they could be addictive but I'm not that interested in joining them myself.  I think My Space is for younger people.  I used Ning a few years ago as part of a MAC project that I was involved in.  It seemed okay.

Gorgeous flower

Enjoy!

Image Generator - My Dog Bernie

This is my dog, Bernie.  He's an English Springer Spaniel.  This photo was taken a few years ago.   He's actually quite grey around the face now as he turned 13 in April.

Have some fun!

I like these image generators!!!

Virtual Worlds

I can see why some people get involved in virtual worlds though it's not really something that I'd want to spend my time on.    I think World of Warcraft is the most appealing of the ones I've had a look at.  You can be a hero or heroine in your own adventure.

I Google

This looks neat.  I can imagine that kids would love to have their own personalised IGoogle page with all of their own gadgets.

Google Docs

Google Docs is interesting.  I've never actually spent the time to sit down and have a good look.
I've saved some of the templates already.

Google Maps - I never realised that you can go in and add a business or personalise your own maps.

Google Books - I haven't been following what they're doing with ebooks which is amazing.  The fact that they're not limiting the books to a specific reader is good but then you have to read the fine print to make sure that what you're buying will suit you - mmmm.

Welcome to my blog

Hi Everyone,

Well - I've finally started this course which I've been thinking of doing for a while.

I'm interested in and have been using technology as part of my job now for years but it's usually been within the confines of the programmes of the Education system I work in.

I think we're going to have fun!

Cheers
Julie
